Randy Brown

I began my career as a lagoon operator and worked my way up through nearly every role in a utility. While gaining hands-on experience, I spent 13 years attending night school to earn my AA, BA, and MBA. That journey shaped my belief in the power of people, mentorship, and purposeful leadership. I’ve led award-winning utility operations, built strong teams, and implemented innovative, sustainable solutions.

Throughout my 47 year career, I’ve championed initiatives that balance efficiency with long-term resilience.

Today, I bring that experience to consulting, helping utilities, consultants and vendors strengthen their operations, lead with purpose, and build systems that serve communities sustainably, reliably, and effectively.

With a deep commitment to professional growth and operational excellence, I bring a wealth of experience to every project. My leadership approach is rooted in collaboration, continuous improvement, and fostering environments where individuals thrive and organizations achieve lasting success. I am dedicated to helping utilities navigate challenges, embrace innovation, and build resilient teams for the future.

I care about people, and I’m passionate about helping utilities , consultants and vendors succeed—for their teams, their communities, and the environment.

With a strong understanding of the industry and a collaborative approach, I’m here to share what I’ve learned, support your goals, and be the partner you can count on to move your utility or business forward.

Rooted in Experience. Driven by Logic, Passion, and Vision.

Global Perspective & Industry Exchange

My work in utility consulting is shaped by hands-on international exchange and collaboration with utility leaders across the globe. Through professional travel, academic study, and peer engagement, I’ve gained insight into how different regions address shared infrastructure, operational, and sustainability challenges.

  • Studied Industrial Symbiosis models that promote efficiency and collaboration between utilities and industry.

  • Met with utility and government leaders to explore the country’s innovative One Water approach to integrated water management.

  • Participated in numerous utility conferences focused on operational best practices, policy, and infrastructure planning.

  • Completed advanced studies through an International Management School, strengthening global leadership and strategic management expertise.

  • Engaged in cross-border exchanges to discuss shared operational challenges and collaborative solutions between U.S. and Mexican utilities.
